On a glorious sunny afternoon Salisbury's 2nd XV hosted Frome II for their league game. With Salisbury having two wins from 2 games, and Frome with 3 from 3, a close game was in prospect.

Salisbury started strongly and were first on the scoreboard with a try for fly-half Matt Chilvers. Flanker Charlie Morris soon followed suit, and skipper Ben Armitage brought up the hat-trick. Late in the first half Frome mounted a strong attack and closed out the half with a try. With all tries being unconverted the score stood at 15-5 at half-time.

Frome came out more strongly in the second half and the sides were well-matched. Both sides attacked strongly and both defences held out. About 15 minutes in Frome had a sustained attack on the Salisbury line. Eventually the defence cracked and Frome scored a try. which was converted. It was an anxious 25 minutes for the spectators but there were no further scores, Salisbury running out winners by 15 points to 12.
