Although it was not the result we wanted, the girls left nothing on the field, giving every ounce of effort in difficult conditions and all while keeping a smile on their faces. There were some really fantastic periods of play from the Spitfires who managed to execute some strong carries by the forwards with some really nice running in the backs.

Set pieces were even throughout, a not inconsiderable achievement for a scrum and lineout that has only come together relatively recently, and despite it being early in the season the senior players really stepped up and led by example. All in all a fantastic effort, delivered with great humour and commitment.

Our Spitfires can be proud, as we are proud of them.
