Salisbury concluded their South Counties league campaign unbeaten with a 38 - 0 away win over Frome. Despite the score line it was Frome that appeared the stronger during the first quarter and the deadlock wasn't broken until the 20th minute when the visitor's wing Phil Carr made an interception and ran 60 metres for the try. Fly half Rory Davis added the conversion. Carr scored 6 minutes later when, after a poor Salisbury scrummage, he gathered a Frome knock-on and ran in the remaining 30 metres for his second try. Davis added the extras to establish a 14 - 0 lead and appeared to be in kicking form throughout, often kicking the visitors out of trouble. He converted a penalty on 33 minutes to extend the lead to 17 points.
The visitors finished the half strongly, Davis took a penalty quickly in the 38th minute and cleverly committed the first-up tackler and popped the ball to skipper Liam Gilbert who rounded a defending centre to score. The try gave Salisbury a remarkable 1000 point total for the season and Davis' conversion concluded the half at 24 - 0.
The visitors started the second period promisingly when Davis set-up back-rower James Kay for a 25 metre run-in within the first few minutes. A further conversion from Davis gave Salisbury a commanding 31 - 0 but surprisingly the visitors appeared overly cautious for much of the second period despite the points difference. There was no further score until the 70th minute when centre Simon Smith went over in the corner to complete a fine passage of play. Davis made it five conversions from five attempts to end Salisbury's outstanding league season on a positive note.
