U7s 26th November 2011 - Trowbridge |
Sunday 26th November 2011
Although bright it was a cold and blustery day for our away fixture at Trowbridge. Our Tigers and Bears were oblivious to the inclement weather and it wasn't long before all of our parents' spirits were lifted watching our boys put in some great performances with the Tigers winning all of their matches and the bears winning all but one match. Chippenham fielded two teams and both were proficient sides and a good test of our boys' skills and although Trowbridge's limited numbers on the day didn't present such a challenge it gave Salisbury the chance to test every member of our team through squad rotation.
Fearless in attack with excellent support of each other this is an area of their game that we're getting used to seeing. However, most pleasing was their dogged determination in defence, which often saw our boys pressing their opponents further and further back into their oppositions half. It was an excellent day with all of our boys leaving Trowbridge with muddy knees, broad smiles on their faces, a hot dog in hand and no doubt some good memories of such a rewarding fixture and last but not least a dirty washing challenge for the mums! Well done to the Tigers and Bears.
We now have a few months to further hone their skills in preparation for the festivals next year, and our coaches will be defining the festival squads and training programmes in preparation for those festivals.
