The ladies won their fifth game of the season 30-5 on 11th Dec 2011. Three tries came from Gemma David following brilliant runs up the wing from our own half each time. Second try of the game came after Devizes failed to collect the ball after a kick-off and Louise Doherty footballed it the length of the pitch to expertly land it right between the posts. Another run down the wing scored the third try and the match finished with Lucy Davis powering through the Devizes defence to get the final try. |

Having been defeated by Devizes on two occasions last season, the third showdown on home turf for the Salisbury ladies was a hotly faught one on Sunday, 30th October. In the first 15 minutes it seemed an evenly-matched game, however, until the power of the Salisbury pack lead to injury of the Devizes front row, and they were forced to go to uncontested scrums. With strong line-outs from the girls in green and some excellent rucking phases, the first try was laid down by Lucy Davis. This opened the flood-gates as the ladies brought three more tries from Gemma David, Megan Stocker and Louise Doherty. An un-breakable defense and and excellent work at the break-down allowed the backs to work the over-lap and slot the tries in with ease. Two conversions left the score at half-time at 24-0 to the Salisbury Ladies. Unfortunately, due to a serious injury of a Devizes player, the game had to be abandoned, but the ladies left proud having not conceded a single point since the start of the season. Their next game will be at home to Totton on 20th Nov. |

Salisbury vs Fordingbridge, 12.30, Sun 18th Sep
The Salisbury ladies faced Fordingbridge away this Sunday in their first of the 12 friendlies lined up this season. A convincing 39-0 win shows that the ladies have managed to maintain a high level since last years games, and manage to be the only winning Salisbury side of the weekend. Tight and dominant scrumming from a mostly inexperienced pack helped keep morale up, and though Fordingbridge upped their game in the second half, the ladies pack were rarely driven back. A hat-trick of tries and an awesome hand-off from winger Jenny Lunn, a further one from zippy wing Gemma David and another hat-trick from Sadie Burton at crash centre, showed the opposition they meant business. Lineouts and penalties were almost flawless and allowed the backs to flow with quick ball and tight lines of running. From 1 through to 15, every player of the Salisbury ladies worked hard and didn't miss a trick. With a home game to Southampton on 9th October, the ladies are entering the season with high hopes of success in the future. |

Charity 7's Tag Tournament |

The Salisbury Ladies' first outing as a team was a surprise success, not least to the 8 girls taking part! They gathered at the side of the pitch as "The Old Ladies" dressed in only the finest the charity shops of Salisbury could offer - wigs, tights and flowery dresses combined beautifully with muddy boots and a willingness to give it their best.
The tournament organised by Bournemouth University Sports Management students was held in Ellingham and Ringwood Rugby Club in aid of Help For Heroes and was the first tournament of it's kind in the area. 5 teams took part in the event which ran on Saturday 26th February and saw fancy dress themes such as Superheroes, Ravers, Crayola and Sunburnt Bumblebees, but it was The Old Ladies who eventually triumphed after a rocky start and some close battles.
Following 9 tough matches the Salisbury ladies were announced the clear winners and were presented with a plaque and champagne by the Mayor of Ringwood, Cllr Christine Ford. They then joined the men's team back in the club to watch England vs France and, celebrate with coach, Tom Hill. |
