Salisbury 34 : 5 Sherborne

Salisbury U13's played their first game of the new 15 aside full sized pitch rugby away to Sherborne. The wider open spaces were definitely to the backs liking as the ball was swiftly moved to the wings enabling debutant Tom Lewis to register a first half hatrick and two for the rejuvenated Harry Pizzey.

Salisbury U13's played their first game of the new 15 a side full sized pitch rugby away to Sherborne. The wider open spaces were definitely to the backs liking as the ball was swiftly moved to the wings enabling debutant Tom Lewis to register a first half hatrick and two for the rejuvenated Harry Pizzey.

With a 29-0 half time lead the coaches rang the changes for the second half, this gave Sherborne a foothold in the game but although they pressed they never threatened the Salisbury line. It was another back Stephen Bush who scored next, picking up to dive over when his fellow centre Ollie Eastham was pulled down inches short.

Possibly the only real error that Salisbury committed came from the last play of the game when a quickly taken penalty some fifteen metres from their own line resulted in a consolation try for the home team.

Final score 34-5 a scoreline that in no way flattered the away side who really did play some of their best rugby for some time, forwards winning their own ball and making good ground then releasing quick ball which was well utilised by the backs. Very encouraging debuts also for Toby Bedford and especially Jack Busby, getting used to his new position.
