Home Juniors Match Reports Salisbury U13's v. Fordingbridge U13's 13 Mar 2011
Salisbury U13's v. Fordingbridge U13's 13 Mar 2011

Salisbury took on local rivals Fordingbridge who arrived full of confidence on Hudsons Field on Sunday. The game proved a tetchy affair but Salisbury kept their cool and their forwards started to gain the upper hand both in the set piece and the loose where their collective effort was proving very difficult for the away side to control.
Hamish Lorimer settled their early nerves with a smartly taken try from the base of a ruck. Another soon followed when the backs created an overlap for Harry Pizzey to score near the corner. Neither try was converted. Fordingbridges high point came after a speculative kick gave them a position on Salisbury’s 22 from where they managed to launch an attack which resulted in their no 10 crossing the line.
Their joy was short lived however as a bullocking run from man of the match Serge Griffiths who bounced off several would be tacklers to score a converted  try giving a half time score of 17-5.
The second half with Salisbury playing uphill proved an extremely one sided affair with the home side scoring 40 unanswered points.
Second half tries were scored by Jack Busby 2, Harry Pizzey, James Hill, Ollie Eastham and Felix Martin with 5 converted by Edward Crossley.
What proved to be big win should have been more with the backs not playing particularly well even crossing the line once and failing to ground the ball. However the forwards were again superb depriving the visitors of any sort of ball and taking the game to them at every opportunity particularly Jack Busby who twice ran in long range tries running  through a by now demoralised opposition.
